JBF Consulting provided leadership, guidance, project management support, and boots on the ground for the first-time implementation of a Transportation Management System.
In addition to working with the Client team and Descartes TMS architects, JBF recommended, scoped, and helped design a custom Fulfillment Planning Application.
This innovative approach provided a flexible platform for applying multiple complex business rules, while allowing Transportation activities to better align with Production and Inventory Planning.
After preparing for go-live using a robust Production Parallel testing process, we successfully implemented the new software and associated business processes.
Highlights:
- Supported a new Descartes TMS implementation, including leading design, build, and testing sessions, as well as generating user documentation.
- Recommended and designed an intuitive, custom fulfillment planning application that integrated with the Client’s mainframe and provided consistent and flexible processing of business rules across multiple divisions.
- Generated and maintained a complex implementation plan, task list, issues log, and risk register, plus defect tracker used for testing and post go-live support.
- Provided leadership and guidance, including comprehensive organizational design recommendations, for transforming a predominantly paper-based process into a more standardized yet still flexible software-based platform.
