JBF Consulting
Since 2003, we’ve been helping shippers of all sizes and across many industries select, implement and squeeze as much value as possible out of their logistics systems. We speak your language — not consultant-speak — and would love to discuss your logistics challenges with you.

Experience Matters

Values Count

Why We’re Different
Experience Matters
Our leadership team has over 70 years of logistics and TMS implementation experience; we’re former TMS software product managers who have patents in multiple pieces of transportation technology. Because we operate in a niche — we’re not all things to all people — we only hire team members who have a very specialized skill set: logistics operations experience + transportation technology + communication and problem-solving skills + a bunch of other stuff.
As a firm, we’ve delivered over 50 implementations, ranging from full TMS programs to freight audit and payment, fleet routing and dispatch, visibility, and custom builds. How do we know our experience serves us well? Most of our new clients become repeat clients — averaging four projects with us.
Values Count
Many firms say they have strong values, but we live ours every day. Clients are always #1 with everything we do — because we’re only successful if they are. Integrity is important to us; the advice and recommendations we provide are structured to represent our clients’ interests, not our own. We act as if your money is ours, focusing on being thrifty and adhering to fiduciary standards — plus ethics matter to us; if we can reduce implementation fees, we will.
We consider objectivity to be paramount, so we don’t accept financial consideration from vendors in exchange for our recommendation to use them. If a vendor isn’t a good fit, we’ll say so. Really, our work keeps us honest; if we recommend something, we’re usually on the hook to deliver it, so it’s in our best interest to be independent and conservative.
Why We’re Different
The JBF difference starts with the fact that logistics and supply chain execution is our only focus. We’re highly specialized in the tools and processes used globally by businesses to support their supply chain operations. We also take a “right-sized” approach to our work, using only logistics technology professionals for our projects — not an army of newly minted MBA consultants.
As a boutique firm, we take only a limited number of clients each year, so we can ensure a highly successful engagement and long-term relationship. We’re unconstrained by the “vendor box” and create holistic solutions to client problems regardless of the brand name of the TMS vendor. Oh, and unlike many logistics geeks, we’ve got personality. You’ll see.
