It has been a little over a month since I joined JBF Consulting. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with the entire staff and some of its clients. I learnt about the quality work our consultants are doing and the issues our clients face. If there was one common thread I noticed with the staff, it was their concern for delivering value to the clients. It wasn’t about the rigors of the job or discussing JBF’s numbers, but them describing how they were working with their client-teams and how we can help them reach their goals.
Last week Brad, Mike and I had a week-long strategy meeting to precisely discuss that topic. How do we best cater to our clients? To put it succinctly, their success is our success. Our laser-focused approach is to provide services for the assessment, selection, delivery and optimization of logistics systems. We want to leverage the team’s talents, skills and experience to help our clients achieve competitive advantage with their logistic operations.
The last part of that approach is optimization. This is where the new Analytics and Optimization practice comes in. Working with our clients and their TMS we want to answer questions such as:
- Are you paying too much for your transportation services?
- Are you providing the service your customers want and are you charging them enough for it?
- Is your TMS operating optimally? Is its data clean and up-to-date?
- Are you getting the visibility into your operations that you need?
We are really looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and crunching the numbers!
